FDC Young Designer Awards

| September 20, 2012

The Young Designer Awards rewards exceptional design talent, and identifies those who have the potential to break through the boundaries of creativity and become fashion leaders of the future. The awards is designed to raise awareness of multi-cultural cutting edge designers, and is open to young people aged 9-25 years who have a passion for fashion, who have an ability to do intensive research and have a natural enthusiasm for the subject.

Designers must research the life and work of ‘British Fashion Designer Alexander McQueen’. Entrants will be expected to source materials and produce their designs themselves; they must produce drawings of their design, a story/mood board and a personal profile with the help of magazine cuttings and photographs, etc, as well as the materials. Each entrant will research and produce a 4-page project on a designer of their choice from the past or present day.

Judges will look for the candidates who show the most creativity, originality and interpretation of their idea. Designs will be displayed in a fashion runway showcase in the spring 2012 at a prestigiousLondonvenue where they will be judged and trophies will be given. This project supports some of the brightest emerging fashion stars and gives them an opportunity to be seen by countless individuals you will be their future consumers. Entrants must all be long term residents in the UK.
