Terrence J Slated to Co-Host on E! NEWS

| September 4, 2012

Former BET 106 & Park host, Terrence Jenkins will replace Ryan Seacrest as the co-host at E! News, alongside Giuliani Rancic beginning November 12, according to E! Entertainment News.

Terrence Jenkins (popularly known as Terrence J) co-hosted the BET show for seven years before leaving to focus on his acting and journalism career. He recently played one of the lead characters in the acclaimed movie “Think like a Man.”

Terrence J. has surely come a long way from his days as an audition hoping hopeful seeking to land a big gig on national television. His persistence in following his dream goes to show that anything is possible for those who dream and never give up.

After graduating with a degree in mass communications from North Carolina A&T State University in 2004, Terrence worked regular after-college jobs before a phone call from his brother informing him of an opportunity to become a host at BET changed his life. Terrence put all his savings into his first trip to New York to audition for a chance to become BET’s new host of 106 & Park.

His first attempt did not produce favorable results. Undeterred, Terrence took a second trip to Atlanta to audition for the same gig a second time. The second try in 2005 was the charm and he became the co-host of the show alongside Rocsi Diaz and did so for the next seven years.

Terrence Jenkins has already had a quite successful run in the film industry. He starred in Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming, and made an appearance in Burlesque. He also starred in the fourth season of the television series The Game and appeared in the The Heart Specialist with Marla Gibbs.
