Many of us are born into greatness, but we are either too afraid to move ahead, or are too lazy to move past our comfort zone. It is for this reason that many of us did not see any progress in our lives last year. However, it is not too late. It is never too late to step forward in faith, determined to reach your destiny. Afrikan Goddess wants the year 2012 to be different for you; to be successful and fulfilling. So we have come up with a few ways to help you in your 2012 journey towards becoming the woman God wants you to be.

Focus Your Mind on What’s Right Instead of What’s Wrong: This takes conscious effort and discipline, but with enough practice and constant awareness, you can slowly train your mind to focus on what’s right in your life instead of what’s wrong. You may not be married, but the positive thing is that you are not yet stuck with the wrong one. See this as a sign that God is preparing a man so handsome in character for you; he will take your breath away when he surfaces.  Or, you may not have found that dream job yet, but you still have enough time to work towards bettering yourself for that fantastic opportunity.

Stand out as a woman of value to the world: Be one in a million, dignified and gracious. In a world where everything seems to be so duplicated and inauthentic, it is a breath of fresh air when you come across someone different – like no one else. She walks her own walk and talks her own talk and commands respect. How about being that woman who gives instead of takes. This year could be different if only you’d just try.

Invest Time in Yourself and In Your Relationships: Of course, it is common knowledge that no man is an island. This is why we all have people in our lives who carry a lot of significance to us. But, if these relationships are not nurtured, they also quickly fizzle out. How about investing time and energy in the most important relationships – the one you have with God, yourself, and with others – in your life this year. You will only see the fruit of your investment if you put in the time. If you are wondering why everyone seems so distant from you these days, maybe it’s because they’re feeling neglected and insignificant in your life. It’s time to put things right and put in the time!

Be the Gift of Optimism to Those Around You: Now let’s face it, no one wants to constantly be in the company of a whiner. It is not cute! And especially on a woman who can and should be doing so much with her life in order to affect those around her, it is anything less than dignifying. Dignified capable women do not sit back and complain about all that is wrong in their lives and with the world. They take action, or exercise enough faith to accept the things they cannot change. Let that be you this New Year and you will definitely find that inner peace you’ve been searching for all along.

Here at Afrikan Goddess Magazine, we believe in the spirit of doing, being and giving. It is our (each one of us) God-given purpose to put to use the talents he has blessed us with. Put yours to use this New Year 2012 – and with a cheerful and positive attitude! You’ll definitely feel differently about yourself and about the world and those around you. Happy New Year from all of us here at Afrikan Goddess!
