It’s a New Dawn for Africa’s Charitable Women
Goddess of the Year Awards Scheduled for Spring 2012
Silver Spring, MD – December 2, 2011-For the first time since its first publication in 2008, Afrikan Goddess Online will honor one of its own with the coveted Goddess of the Year designation. Just announced a few weeks ago, the buzz and excitement this new undertaking has generated has left the founder and publisher of Afrikan Goddess Online speechless.Goddess of the Year Awards“I am beside myself with joy that has rendered me silent,” said the founder and publisher, N. Amma Twum-Baah. “To have something that was once nothing but an idea, a thought, a dream, and to finally put that idea into action and watch the buzz it’s generating, the excitement and response it’s gotten so far, has left me speechless.”The award is the first of its kind produced by an African-oriented, female-inspired publication to specifically award African women with charitable causes throughout the continent and beyond its borders. The award was created to increase awareness of the humanitarian spirit most African women possess, to celebrate the charitable causes of African women, and as a way to cast African women in a positive light against the general world-held view. The award also seeks to foster communal appreciation for the changes women are increasingly making in the lives of their communities and how their kind and compassionate hearts are impacting the world at large. The award ceremony will take place in Spring/Summer 2012. A specific date and location are yet to be announced but will be soon.

About Afrikan Goddess Online

Afrikan Goddess Online is a women’s online magazine founded in October 2008 to recognize the achievements and humanitarian efforts of women of African descent. And for the last three years, Afrikan Goddess Online has been doing just that, celebrating the lives of charitable African women across the world. We celebrate them for giving so much of themselves to the benefit of others. These women invest time, money and effort into their communities through worthy causes. Some educate underprivileged children, others house abused women and children, and some speak out against female genital mutilation and other abuses against humanity.

N. Amma Twum-Baah is the founder and publisher of Afrikan Goddess Online. She has been in the writing and editing business since early 2007 and is the CEO of Afrikan Goddess Media, LLC, the parent company of both the Afrikan Goddess Online publication and the Goddess of the Year awards.
